Executive, Legislative Branches discuss Government Plan (2023-2026)
The Parliamentary Committee in charge of studying the Government Plan held its second meeting with the team representing the executive branch.
Council of Representatives Speaker Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam and Finance and National Economy Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa co-chaired the session.
The Government team also included Labour Minister Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, Parliament Minister Ghanim bin Fadhl Al Bouainain, Legal Affairs Minister Youssef bin Abdulhussein Khalaf, Health Minister Dr. Jaleela bint Al Sayyed Jawad Hassan Jawad, Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Minister Nawaf bin Mohammed Al Maawda and Cabinet Affairs Minister Hamad bin Faisal Al Malki.
The session was also attended by Parliament First Deputy Speaker Abdulnabi Salman and lawmakers members of Parliamentary Committee in charge of studying the Government Plan.
The Speaker commended the Government team’s cooperation in dealing the lawmakers’ proposals pertaining the Government Action Plan (2023-2026), reflecting the farsighted vision and directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, with the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister to bolster constructive coordination between the legislative and executive branches.
He stressed the importance of constructive consensus between the legislative and executive branches regarding key issues, particularly the implementation of the economic recovery plans and the fiscal balance programmes, the consolidation of partnership with the private sector, in addition to boosting non-oil revenues to diversify the national economy and create jobs.
Finance and National Economy Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa also stressed the importance of positive cooperation between the executive and legislative branches to serve the nation and citizens, reflecting the aspirations of HM the King and HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
He noted that the Government Programme (2023-2026) aimed to move from the phase of economic recovery to the phase of sustainable development, focusing on three priorities: security, stability and equity; economic recovery and sustainable development and quality and competitive service.
“The Government seeks to implement a set of development plans and initiatives whose positive effects will be reflected on the citizen as the focus of development and its primary goal, in accordance with the principles of Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030”, said the minister.
