The Minister of Legal Affairs emphasizes the value of scientific analysis in creating the legal system
His Excellency Mr. Youssef bin Abdul Hussein Khalaf, The Minister of Legal Affairs, , emphasized the significance of scientific research and legal studies in enhancing the legislative framework, referring that studies based on scientific practices and applications would aid in the development of the legislative system and the formulation of future laws.
This took place when His Excellency met the lawyer Nada Al-Riyashi, who gave him a copy of a thorough analytical study she wrote for her master’s thesis, “Alternative Penalties and their Impact on the Criminal Phenomenon,” as well as a field study on “Women’s Right to Hold Judicial Positions.”
His Excellency praised the contents of the two studies and their conclusions regarding the benefits of the Alternative Penalties Law No. 18 of 2017’s implementation and what it aims to do to rehabilitate and reform the convicts, the conformity of alternative penalties with international human rights principles and covenants, and the efforts of the Kingdom of Bahrain to empower women in the judicial field, noting the role of Studies and legal scientific research, a legal academic discipline, as well as the role of studies and research in general.
