Legal Affairs Minister lauds NGOs' role in promoting human rights culture
Legal Affairs Minister, Yousif bin Abdulhussain Khalaf, has affirmed the role played by the civil society institutions concerned with human rights and legal issues in the kingdom, citing their contribution to promoting the human rights culture, raising legal awareness and informing the citizens about their rights and duties.
The minister was speaking while receiving Dr. Abduljabbar Al-Tayeb, the Chairman of the Bahrain Jurists Society (BJS), alongside BJS board members, Representatives Council member, MP Abdulla Al-Romaihi, and Dr. Hanadi Al-Jowdar.
Minister Khalaf discussed with the delegation ways to enhance cooperation between the Legal Affairs Ministry and BJS in various issues of common interest.
The minister appreciated the role played by the Bahraini Jurists Society in raising awareness of the members of society on their rights and duties, praising its effective efforts to highlight the kingdom’s achievements in raising human rights awareness.
BJS Chairman lauded the Legal Affairs Ministry’s constant keenness to strengthen cooperation with the Bahrain Jurists Society, stressing the importance of enhancing constructive cooperation in human rights fields between the two sides.
